In 2016, home care providers must send the form 1095-C to the IRS, accompanied by another new form – the 1094-C. On the 1094-C form, agencies will have to indicate quantity of employees, quantity of full-time equivalent employees (FTEs), if Minimal Essential Coverage (MEC) is offered and whether there is an entitlement to a global safe harbor. While not as complex as the 1095-C, this form is equally important to maintaining compliance with the regulations. Whether you are filing on paper or filing electronically these forms need to be submitted to the IRS by May 31 or June 30, respectively.
