The Aide's Role in Falls Prevention

Online registration has now ended. Please contact CHC at 518.463.1167 to register.
Statistics show that 30% of individuals age 65 or older will experience at least one fall each year and half will suffer multiple falls with potentially devastating consequences. Injuries sustained during or after a fall are one of the most frequently occurring adverse events reported among home care clients and often result in the need for emergent care. This webinar will discuss how paraprofessionals can reduce the risk of falls for their clients. This program will explore risk factors that contribute to the likelihood of falls and discuss methods through which paraprofessionals can easily identify and address these factors, in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions during the presentation using a chat box. This program provides a post-test.
