As a reminder, you do not need to have signed vendor or other service contracts in place in order to submit your spending plan, and should not hold up your submission for this reason.

**If you miss the deadline, now Tuesday, January 18, 2022, you will not be eligible for disbursement of funds in this round. **

Funds disbursed in this round are to be used in the following ways:

  • Adopting workforce retention and job satisfaction strategies
  • Developing or enhancing training programs
  • Utilizing innovative technologies that assist with Value Based Payment (VBP) contracting and/or increase employee job satisfaction
  • Developing or utilizing strategies to recruit and retain a racially and ethnically diverse and culturally competent workforce
  • Implementing strategies for effective care management and reductions in health care spending associated with effective service delivery
  • Planning for emergencies and building appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) stockpiles from state authorized sources
  • Preparing for participation in VBP arrangements

Additional information regarding spending plan and attestation submission is available in the above linked documents.

Agencies are reminded that the awards are estimates, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has not yet approved this program for New York State. All awards are pending CMS approval.

As always, HCP will keep you up to date as the Department promulgates additional guidance, information, and updates.
