“Governor Cuomo and his regional colleagues have taken a critically important step to help ensure those in the health care industry will have access to a supply chain for personal protective equipment (PPE) and testing”, said Kathy Febraio, President and CEO of the NYS Association of Health Care Providers.
Febraio continued, “HCP welcomes this innovative development as our member home care providers have been struggling to obtain PPE through the regular supply chain.
This approach will lead to fairer pricing, more reliable and predictable delivery timeframes for home care providers to access PPE and reduce supply chain disruption. This step comes as HCP has been working non-stop to advocate for access to PPE for the home care industry and to provide a source of PPE for its members and those they serve.”
“Collectively, home care agencies have spent millions to protect their workers and the patients they serve. However, the agencies need assistance to address these ongoing costs. HCP looks forward to accessing this consortium to ensure the health and safety of home care workers and those we serve, Febraio said.
