Mcdonald’s Donates 100,000 PPE N95 Masks to New York State Association of Health Care Providers

June 30, 2020 - Late last week the New York State Association of Health Care Providers (NYSHCP) received 100,000 N95 masks donated by McDonald’sMan with boxes of masks owner/operators in the NY Metro area. This donation will help to provide critical personal protective equipment (PPE) to home healthcare workers and other healthcare professionals across the state in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the national epicenter of the pandemic earlier this year, New York has been among the most impacted states during this crisis. Even as counties across the state have seen decreases in new cases, PPE has remained in high demand for healthcare workers. McDonald’s has partnered with NYSHCP to provide N95 masks to organizations focused on home and community-based care including Licensed Home Care Service Agencies (LHCSAs), Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs), Hospices, and health related organizations (HROs).

“McDonald’s is proud to provide these masks to home and community-care providers in need across New York,” said Katie Hunt-Rotolo, a local owner/operator and president of the McDonald’s New York Metro Owner/Operator Association. “We are very grateful for the individuals who have continued to care for our communities during the pandemic, and through our partnership with the NYSHCP, we know that they will be distributed to those who need them most.”

“PPE is critical for healthcare providers to keep clients, caregivers, and families healthy, especially during this time,” said Kathy Febraio, CAE, President and CEO of NYSHCP. “This generous donation from McDonald’s will enable thousands of healthcare professionals in New York to continue caring for patients while maintaining safe practices for themselves and their families.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of McDonald’s restaurants across the state remain open to serve hot meals to communities who need quick and affordable options. For a two-week period during the height of the pandemic, McDonald’s provided more than 10 million free Thank You Meals to healthcare workers and first responders across the United States to show appreciation for those on the front lines during the crisis.
