Welcome to the NYS Home Care Providers Foundation (HCPF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to offering research and affordable educational programs to home care employees across various roles, including administrators, managers, clinicians, and paraprofessionals.

Mission

The New York State Home Care Providers Foundation provides comprehensive education on behalf of the home care industry; informs and educates health care providers on issues and strategies relating to the efficient, effective provision of high quality health care services; and facilitates and/or conducts research on issues and topics affecting providers and the services they offer.

History

Established in 1989 as an affiliate of the New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc. (HCP), HCPF offers a wide variety of affordable educational programs for home care employees. Through grant projects, HCPF enhances the quality and efficiency of care delivery.

The volunteer Board of Directors at HCPF represents various roles within home care provider agencies. Curriculum development, meeting planning, and program execution are coordinated by HCP’s professional staff.

Since its founding, HCPF has been committed to providing top-notch education and training for the home care industry, including management, leadership, and clinical areas. Over the years, HCPF has secured grants to expand educational and research opportunities, covering programs such as paraprofessional training, telemedicine, and emergency preparedness.

Early programs, such as the Home Care Management Institute, helped providers comply with licensing requirements. HCPF pioneered national programs on Managed Care and has expanded its distance learning options to include audio programs, podcasts, webinars, and video-streaming programs.

The annual HCP Management Conference & Exhibition brings together experts to discuss the evolving landscape of the home care industry. HCPF also developed the Legacy of Care© Mentorship program to promote worker retention.

In addition to grant funding at the state level, HCPF receives grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response to support emergency management and preparation in New York City.

Formerly known as the Community Health Care Services Foundation, HCPF adopted its current name in 2023 to align with the NYS Association of Health Care Providers. The organization remains committed to providing high-quality, affordable education and training for the home care industry.
