Join us for a FREE virtual Home Care and Hospice Emergency Preparedness Forum. The Home Care Association of New York State (HCANYS), the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State (HPCANYS) and the New York State Association of Health Care Providers (HCP) are conducting this Forum as part of a series of activities funded by a grant from the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), and administered by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR).

New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) is integral part of emergency and incident response planning and recovery in New York City. This forum will focus on three programs within NYCEM’s Bureau of Community Engagement; Community Preparedness, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Ready New York.

Angel Luis Perez, Community Engagement Specialist, NYCEM, and his colleagues will explain the roles and responsibilities of the Community Engagement Bureau and how integration with home care and hospice providers in New York City can benefit communities, neighborhoods, and the individuals receiving care at home in New York City.

Eva Cohen, Director of Regulatory and Community Affairs, HPCANYS, Carole Deyoe, RPh, Director of Regulatory Affairs and Special Programs, HCP, and Al Cardillo, President/CEO, with Kiernan Gorton, Associate Director of Research and Development, both from HCA, will also provide brief updates on current topics in emergency management affecting home care, hospice and community-based services providers.

The Forum gives home care and hospice providers in attendance the opportunity to share their comments, questions, or concerns on any Emergency Management Preparedness issues that face their agencies. Your participation in the open discussion following the presentations will help prioritize and shape future emergency management programming.
