HCP Announces Award Winners

Each year, HCP members celebrate the exceptional individuals who go above and beyond in advancing the home care industry. After a careful nomination process, the HCP Board of Directors selects honorees whose dedication and innovation have made a lasting impact on both HCP and the communities we serve. 

On October 29, during the HCP Management Conference and Exhibition at the Hilton Pearl River in Pearl River, NY, we will proudly recognize our 2025 award recipients. Their unwavering commitment to excellence has helped shape the future of home care.

Richard Z. Steinhaus Award

Annette Horvath, Able Body Homecare Agency of NY

The Richard Z. Steinhaus Award, HCP’s highest accolade, is given to an individual who has profoundly shaped the home care and hospice sectors. This award is reserved for those whose exceptional knowledge, leadership, and unwavering support have left an indelible mark on our field. This year’s recipient is a true embodiment of these qualities: Annette Horvath.

HCP awards the Richard Z. Steinhaus Award to individuals who have made significant contributions to the field. This year,we recognize Annette Horvath for her exceptional leadership,
expertise, and advocacy on behalf of the home care industry. With more than 25 years of experience, Annette has established herself as a trusted authority on state and federal regulatory issues and a respected voice in public forums. Her knowledge and dedication have made a lasting impact on home care, and we are proud to honor her contributions with this award.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, her unwavering leadership, and her tireless advocacy, it is with great pride that HCP presents the Richard Z. Steinhaus Award to Annette Horvath.


Edna A. Lauterbach Member of the Year Award

Rebecca Leahy, North Country Home Services

It’s an honor to present the Edna A. Lauterbach Member of the Year Award to someone who embodies dedication, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to home care Becky Leahy.

For nearly forty years, North Country Home Services (NCHS)has stood as a shinin g example of dedication to the home care community and to HCP. Its long-standing partnership reflects a
deep commitment to collaboration, advocacy, and advancing quality care. NCHS staff have embraced HCP’s resources and support, while also championing the importance of advocacy for licensed
agencies across New York. It is an honor to celebrate NCHS as Member of the Year, recognizing its decades of loyalty, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the mission of home care.

 HCP is privileged to present this year’s Edna A. Lauterbach Member of the Year Award to Rebecca Leahy, North Country Home Services.

In recognition of outstanding dedication and service, the New York State Association of Health Care Providers is proud to present the Associate Member of the Year Award to Paul Essner and Bryan Pendrick, Risk Strategies.
