HCP News Alert 7.1.2026

Today’s the Day! Medicaid Revalidation Online Only

Beginning today, July 1, 2026, paper maintenance transactions for all New York State Medicaid provider types will no longer be accepted, and all provider maintenance must be completed in the NYS Medicaid Provider Services Portal (PSP).  This change includes address changes, affiliations, managing employee disclosures, and specialty updates.

Complete paper maintenance transactions (including required documentation) mailed to eMedNY, postmarked by July 1, 2026, and received prior to close of business July 10, 2026, will still be accepted.  Paper maintenance transactions received after July 10, 2026 will be returned, regardless of date postmarked, with instructions for providers to submit the transaction in the PSP.

Providers must take steps to ensure their contact information is up to date. Notifications will be sent to the mailing and email addresses on file, and failure to respond in a timely manner once notified could result in a lapse in Medicaid enrollment.

What Providers Need to Do Now

All providers will need to establish a NY.gov Business Account, if they have not already done so, to access the Provider Services Portal (PSP). This is a one-time process that can be completed from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. Once the account is created, providers will log into the PSP and follow a guided process to “claim” (link) their existing enrollment records.

Beginning this summer, providers who originally enrolled using paper applications will be invited to complete the linking process. For some providers, completing this step may also fulfill Medicaid revalidation requirements.

Once onboarding is complete, providers will be able to access the PSP at any time to view, update, and manage their enrollment information electronically.

Recent Updates

The transition to the Provider Services Portal (PSP) is underway, and several changes have already taken effect:

  • Change of ownership and reinstatement applications are being returned if they were not submitted using the May 2026 version of the required forms.
  • Paper transactions resubmitted after being rejected will also be returned with instructions to submit electronically through the PSP.
  • The Department will announce a future date after which paper enrollment transactions will no longer be accepted.
Important Reminders
  • All providers, authorized representatives, and credentialing staff who prepare or submit enrollment transactions must create a NY.gov Business Account to access provider records and prepare transactions in the PSP.
  • Only individual practitioners, organizational owners, or managing employees who are disclosed on the enrollment application may sign and submit enrollment transactions.
  • Organizations that use offshore credentialing staff should be aware that, under New York State Office of Information Technology Services’ International Access to NYS Systems or Data Policy and the Department of Health Office of Health Insurance Programs’ Offshoring Data Policy, offshore personnel are not permitted to access New York State systems.

Continue to monitor your email and eMedNY.org for additional guidance and updates as the Department completes the transition to a fully paperless provider enrollment process.
